They aren't admissible in a court of law.

That would make me really nervous. Even though I wouldn't lie.. just the thought of double thinking, that would be the end for me. If they had a lie detector test like the way that Japanese immigration can take your temperature, by pointing an infa-red gun at your head, that would be a bit better.

court of law is one thing. Im just saying, at the time of interview, if the VO has reservations, why not ?

very true ! most people are already nervous at the time of interview. ???

Because the outcomes are interpretive. How do you know the person interpreting the test is impartial?

Me too. I got sweaty when the nice man at the base where my husband works was taking my fingerprints. WTH? I KNOW I don't have any criminal charges in my past, and even if I did, that guy wasn't running my prints, just putting ink on my fingers and pressing them to paper. Yet I got the nervous sweats. Stoopid brain.

People can beat the detectors. And the detector doesn't detect truth, at its best all it can tell you is what your subject believes to be true. Like if you really believe you have seen bigfoot, then you will be telling the truth when someone asks if bigfoot exists.

The type of person who can lie to your face for years and get away with it will most likely be one of those who can beat the test.

If I have seen Bigfoot should I have included that in my sponsorship documents?

He's real :-X It's okay, I believe you. I spent my childhood in fear of the Ogopogo.

I'm pretty sure it was Bigfoot. The windows in the UFO were tinted though....

I still fail to see the "scam" in all of this. As for expenses, you do realize as a couple your incomes are family income and expenses are family expenses? Did you think you get to pocket all your money? You wanted 5 kids? You know you would have to give her money to pay for clothes, food, etc? I have heard of a lot of really ingenious scams, but none that make you (the scammer) financially responsible for your victim for 3 years!

As for the marriage fraud article:

That is just WRONG! Any attempt to deal with marriage fraud has to occur after landing. You can't do it before. Tell me all of you, if CIC told you your partner was scamming you would you be thankful and call things off? Of course not! All those new rules do is make it harder for EVERYONE to get their spouses here in a timely manner.

I would say that since you are sponsoring your spouse, if that person ceases to be your spouse you can send them back. Which is similar to the new legislation brought in anyway. But the main point is they need to pursue and prosecute scammers, and the scams normally will not become known until they arrive here. It is a lot easier to keep up appearances in email, chat, phone, skype, and on short trips than when living 24/7 with someone.

Can she go after my money? we have not lived with each other at all since we are both in different worlds.

Yeah I wanted 5 kids in my life. But with her zero. I am find with paying for clothes, food etc.

To me it's like she started the fight for any reason, then in an email tells me it's over and if I want to come to canada to do it like everyone else and PAY UP! It's like "okay I got him hooked now he has to pay" I am calling things off, now I am worried she might try to get my money cause she was married to me for under 2 months. Thank god for those long rules!!! NO joke!

No she was suppose to sponsore me to come to Canada! Since she didn't want to be here. She didn't like it very much.

Married in ON. IF she can come after my money then I would rather blow it all on red at the casino.

A) Save any written communication or voicemails

B) If you're in another country, she'll be lucky to track you down period.

Depending on the country/province that does your divorce, it'll have different rules. For example, I was divorced in Georgia, USA. In Georgia, generally there is no alimony or division of property in "short" marriages. That's generally 5 years or less.

Since Canada requires a year, you can also look at divorce laws in Luxembourg and see if those would benefit you better. Some places let file sooner, so you could beat her to the punch. Just need to go home and estalish residency (if you were gone long enough to lose it, that is). Then if she wanted to contest the divorce in court, she would have to travel to Europe. Hahahah!

In Canada, at least, you can probably get a free consultation with a divorce lawyer as well.

So chances are she would have to come here?
