Sponsorship of the parents

hello,
We applied for the permanent residence for my parents through the sponsorship for parents program. They completed all the steps and were issued visas and CoPR. However, the visa validity was up to the end of October of 2017. Unfortunately they were not able to enter Canada by that time. We realize that we will have to reapply for PR and start all the process from the beginning. My questions are:
1. What should they do with their documents now (CoPR and visas)? Do they need to srnd them somewhere to cancel them? We received the documents through vsf office in moscow, but they cannot give us an answer and seems like they do not understand what we are talking about

2. If we have to send it somewhere to cancel, how long dies it usually take?

3. If my parents are planning to come to Cabada in January, can they just cancell these documents at the custom?

4. My parents received parents visas in 2016, which are valid for 10 years, doesn't the issuance of CoPR and temporary visa cancel the parents visas? Are they still valid?

Thank you

1 / 2 / 3 - There's nothing to cancel and nothing you need to do. The COPR/visas canceled themselves when they weren't used by the expiry date.
4 - Their visitor visas are still valid unless they have been crossed out in their passports.

Thank you for your reply. The reason why i asked question #1 is that immigration services in ottawa told us to send documents back to vsf office. That is why I am confused, to my understanding there is nothing to cancel as well. Just worry if my parents will be able to enter Canada in January, if they do not do anything with CoPR and temp visas
