Thanks very much for that advice regarding the children. I'll certainly get their certificates on the go once this application is sent in. I suppose worst case scenario, I get the kids travel health insurance until their proof of citizenship comes through. Meant to ask as well - I'm submitting 'visa' style photos of each family member (as requested) so 8 for my husband, 8 for me and 8 for each of my 2 kids - the application doesn't say what, if anything, I should write on the backs of these - what did you write?
Thanks again,
Lynda

Hi Lynda,

We didnt write anyting on the back, we also didnt send photos for our daughter or my wife (sponsor). We were also confused by the guide! We asked someone from CIC and she said we only included the photos for me as the applicant. We wrote a covering letter stating that we had applied for citizenship for our daughter and included a photocopy of the letter that CIC sent advising it had been approved and said to Nova Scotia to issue the certificate. We have passed the SA stage and didnt hear anything from CIC to send more photos so hopefully CIC gave us the correct advice!

Bruce.

correct! only the applicant needs to submit photos.

lynda - only the person being sponsored needs to submit photos - so it is not necessary to send pictures of the sponsor and canadian kids. when the application refers to "family members", they are referring to family members inlcuded in the sponsorship. meaning if your children were not canadian and considered dependants on the application , or if a couple were both being sponsored together for pr. for the purposes of your application, the sponsor and children are not "family members" who need to submit photos. only the principle applicant does.
