Sponsorship file under process NVDO

Hi,

I am a Canadian Citizen living with my husband outside Canada. I have sponsored him since Dec 2015. In Jan 2015, my husband was asked to forward few documents and we completed all the formalities as required. I got my sponsorship approval in Dec but received letter in May (after calling the officials in Mississauga and reminding for the same).

Since then, we haven't heard anything from New Delhi Visa Office. I am worried if they require any more information and they missed to inform. I and my husband are checking our emails regularly. We did not even receive any letter at our home mailing address either. On CIC website, it shows the file is still under process.

How long does it usually take for the applicant's file to be processed without any complication? It is almost 7 months since the process started.

I have read about GCMS notes that we can enquire about our processing file. Please advise if we should enquire at GCMS or wait for the reply from NVOD.

You should be on the ND thread, that will give you a better idea. Every case is different though, 7 months for ND isn't that long (though it seems some have been getting through much faster than "usual".) GSCM notes might give you an idea of where they are, if anywhere.
