I know it is silly but I just noticed that in the immigrant's guide, it said to make a copy of the sponsorship agreement and send it to them and to keep the original for yourself.

I made a copy but I sent the original with the application. Is this going to be a problem?

Also on parts of the application that were not applicable, I filled out "Not Applicable" in the first line than entered black diagonal lines for the rest of boxes in that particular section that didn't apply. Was this okay?
And also, if the sections that didn't apply to us, I didn't draw a line through the boxes for the dates. I am hoping that was okay as well.

I am just really starting to freak out about my application being returned since I know I will be out of status if it is....ahh...can someone reassure me?

About the first part, there was a thread I was reading not too long ago where some people forgot to send the copy. The IO just copied it themselves and mailed the original back to the sponsor. And your N/A method is exactly what I did!

I did see a post recently that someone else sent in the original. They just took a copy for themselves and sent the original back to the person. They did not send the whole application back. I would guess the same thing would happen to you. The reason they want you to keep the original is because it is a "contract" between sponsor and applicant. I wouldn't worry too much.

As for your other point, the guide says to put Not Applicable in sections that do not apply to you, so you are fine there. Again, adding the black marks, I doubt is a problem.

Try and relax. The second guessing is normal and can drive you nuts, if you let it. We all do it. We have enough stress with the waiting. Try to let the small things that might be wrong not get you down.

Take care.

Thanks nyssa and journeyman.

Would you all happen to know about the dates though?
Like for my parents deceased date I left blank because they are alive. I did not think to write n/a because I figured it would be obvious they were alive if I didn't write a date there.

I also did this for spots that didn't apply to us like if it asked if we were in a previous relationship and asked for dates, I left those spots blank.
Should I have put n/a?
I swear I read EVERYTHING but now it is too late to make corrections and it is driving me nuts.

To everyone out there, before sending off your application. Make sure you are COMPLETELY comfortable with it.

For my parents I crossed it out. I'm sure you will be fine! It is only your parents. And in the Additional Family section, you wrote an address. They can cross-reference. I highly doubt they would send the whole application back to you because you didn't cross out or N/A that your parents are still alive.

I have faith your application will be just fine. At least you have us and this forum! Though it does make you panic more sometimes, no? Just think of all the people who don't use this forum. At least we have a lot more insight than we would have otherwise. At the end of the day, we're still human. I hope CIC realizes that just a little bit... ::)

I didn't write NA in EVERY single blank - just the ones where it made sense to do so because the question did not apply. If, for instance there was a yes or no answer and then a blank for a yes explanation (or date) or just a blank for a no answer for further explanation, but i had checked yes, I didn't put a NA in the 'no" blank - because I had already answered the question.

I didn't put NA in my parents death (if deceased) because it only asks for an answer IF deceased, you know??

I think in those cases, it isn't necessary to fill out every blank, because they already give you the option of not writing anything. Not a big deal. Some other places, I wrote in NA, because the entire question wasn't applicable to me or my partner.

While I was in the process of looking up forms and answering, Nyssa beat me to it :). I agree with her.

In the end, I think, small little mistakes will not cause delays. I'd be surprised if CIC recieves many applications that are 100% mistake free. As long as the forms are completed, the required documents (FBI clearance, medicals, photos, etc.) are included and the supporting proof of relationship shows a genuine couple, that will be the most important.

Thank you again everyone. It is so nice to have so much support here.
I don't know what I would do if I didn't have people here to talk to in times when my mind is going crazy. Lol. :p

I am hoping things will go through just fine so here is hoping. Hope is all I have left for myself.

This statement worries me a little. I do hope you realize that status doesn't come from filing the application. You need to apply separately to extend your status as a visitor or worker or student.

Anyway, sounds like your forms are fine.

I did apply for an OWP with the PR application.
I am just worried because it only gives me implied status for now and if returned, I won't have any status.
Since my status expire on July 31, 2010. Do you think I could still extend it even though I submitted an OWP application with my PR application?

I can't see any reason why you shouldn't request a visitor permit extension while you wait for the OWP. If I were you, I think that's what I would do. We requested my partner's extension using the online process and it was returned much sooner than we expected; much sooner than the web site indicated. If it will cut down on your stress, it's probably worth it.

Besides, it will give you a small "hobby" to occupy your time. ;D

Well I messaged RobsLuv and she said it may just confuse them so that is the last thing I want.
She says that she figures they check for mistakes the moment they receive the applications and that if it was going to be returned I would have gotten it by now so who knows.

I hate to see my status expire even though I know I will be on implied status but if it keeps CIC from getting confused then that is what I will do.
But yeah, I definitely need a hobby. Right now the only hobby I have, is stress and worry. Lol.
