Hi,

I have a query regarding UCI for my spousal sponsorship application.. My Husband is sponsor.

My Husband's UCI on PR card is different from those received on CIC's documents. I know it's not PA's UCI because it specifically mention "Sponsor's UCI"

Acknowledgement Receipt = Sponsor's UCI
Sponsor Approval = Sponsor's UCI
Medical Exam Request = Principal Applicant's UCI
File Transfer to Visa Office Letter = Sponsor's UCI

I have checked our forms again and again. I've written correct UCI as mentioned on Sponsor's PR Card. How can Sponsor's UCI be different?

ECAS don't recognize UCI printed on PR card.

Can anyone help me with this issue? Just feeling worried. I have to apply for CSQ and UCI on IRCC's Letter don't match with Sponsor's UCI on PR Card.

Thanks in advance

The PR card is a completely separate number. It has nothing to do with the IRCC UCI.

Thanks for your reply @scylla

On the front side of PR Card, there's UCI number ('ID No'). I'm talking about that. I'm not referring to the number written at the back of PR card.

syclla is still quite right.

BOTH of the numbers on the PR Card (yes, INCLUDING the 'ID No' on the front of the card) are nothing to do with the UCI number used by IRCC and will ALWAYS be different from the UCI number. Precisely the same for my wife's PR Card.

Relax, perfectly normal and you don't have to do anything.

Always different?

I don't know if I'm making myself clear or not, but Just to clarify, I'm talking about this number (marked in red)

His parents have PR cards and they have same ID no/UCI as on their other Immigration documents. Even his siblings have UCI / ID No. matching their other immigration documents by IRCC.

Actually, I read on some threads like these "https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/uci-on-pr-card.83384/" & "https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...board/threads/is-uci-same-as-id-number.90045/" that PR card's ID Number is UCI. That's what got me worried. Even CIC's official website said the same thing "http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=772&top=4"

After hearing that your wife have same sort of PR card, I am feeling a bit relaxed now. Thanks for your reply @Hurlabrick

You have made yourself crystal clear.

It is confusing and not an unreasonable assumption given that is the same number format as the UCI that the numbers might be the same. But I can assure you that my wife's PR Card has a very different number on the PR Card from the UCI she was given for her spousal sponsorship. We have since travelled outside or Canada 3 times by air and had no problem whatsoever with her PR Card.

As you have earlier quoted that "ID No." on PR Card is not UCI, I have checked his COPR and it has that same 8 digit number as printed on front of PR Card. In short and strictly in my case,
( UCI on COPR = ID No. on PR Card )Sponsor's UCI mentioned in our Spousal Sponsorship Application Letters received by IRCC
(red highlighted box in screenshot given below)

In our spousal sponsorship application, there have been no mention of this UCI on sponsor's COPR. ECAS doesn't work with the UCI mentioned on COPR.

ECAS work with the UCI mentioned on our spousal sponsorship application's Acknowledgement Letter and Sponsor Approval. I guess one person can have more than one UCI's ... I dunno.
