Sponsoring wife and child under 18 years: IMM 1344 and IMM008 dependent

Hello friends,

I am a Canadian citizen willing to sponsor my spouse and a child( 10 years old)living outside of canada. I have couple clarification on forms to be filled.

1) Form IMM1344: Do i have to fill two separate forms for my spouse and child? There is no space to provide two names in a form.

2)IMM 008 dependent : Do we have to fill this to provide information about our child. We only have one child

Please suggest.

Yes. You have to complete forms for each individual being sponsored

1. No. Only one copy of IMM1344 with the Principal Applicant, which is your spouse.

2. No. As stated in the guide, IMM0008DEP only applies if you have more than 5 dependents.

Thanks Canuck for your response. I am little confused as if I only submit IMM 1334 for spouse , how would officer know I am also sponsoring my child.Please suggest

Have you actually gone through the forms? There are many places where you declare the child.
