Got my PR in Nov 2008. Lived in Canada for a month and moved back to USA in Dec 2008. I am now permanently moving to Canada in Aug 2010. At the time I got my PR I was single and when landed I was still single. I got married in October 2009. Once I move to Canada, I will be sponsoring my wife under the family class program. However, we are expecting our first child in December 2010.
My question is that shall I wait for filing her sponsorship application or go ahead with the process and once the baby is born, notify CIC.
I am in the process of gathering all the documentation and reviewing the application, so any help in this regard will be helpful.

you can get the process started and add the baby if you are not approved by the time it is born.

that is what I am doing - we are trying to get our application in tomorrow (fingers crossed that I don't find some terrible error or omission in our papers) and we have a baby due in January 2011.

I think it is relatively common for children to be born while an application is in process, after all, it is likely the impending birth of the baby that made the couple decide that it was time to apply for PR so that the child could have the advantages of growing up in Canada.
