Sponsoring Parents

Hi,

I received an invitation letter from CIC to apply for sponsoring my parents. My parents don't have the marriage certificate but have the details mentioned on their Indian Passports.

Currently, they are visiting me in Canada and I need to submit the application before 15th Oct. Will supporting letter mentioning their marriage details suffice?

I am having exactly same situation. Govt office in chandigarh says they were not registering marriages in 1985. Also to get marriage certificate, Parents will have to present there in person & they are visiting Canada these days. Can an affidavit notarized here in Toronto and an explanation letter will serve the purpose

Can please tell how you could solve the problem of parents marriage certificate.. I need your reply urgently since I am in the same situation..

Please confirm if an affidavit of Canadian authorities will work in such cases...

I have provided covering letter to inform about their marriage date and place. In addition, Indian passport has details of spouse which can be shown as proof.
