Just received the approval of sponsorship today, and the file has been transferred to Ottawa, only appplied for mother. It came by mail.

Its very strange, my application was received on 2nd Jan at 3:30pm, but i have got no notifications so far, and people whose application reached on 5th Jan and getting sponsorship approvals already... ???

I am at the bottom of the pile in 11am Fedex batch Jan 5. I believe most people receiving SA had apps received in the first half of Jan 2. Hopefully you will get the SA soon.

I did, but for whatever reason, they didn't list my email address online, and they always send us by mail. I guess maybe the person keyed in information the 1st day when they received our documents, missed input my email address...

QUESTION: My Mom is in Canada on TRV, have recently completed Medical as well (for Visitor extension). Should I send any updates of address or medical to CIC related to 2015 PR application? Please suggest.

Wait until you receive the medical request. If the current medicals are still valid (less than 12 months old) then send the details to CIC.

Since a few people (who applied for parents sponsorship in 2015)here have received a notification saying they have been approved as sponsors and I haven't even though my application was received at 9.00 am on Jan2, I decided to call CIC. The lady informed me unless it's a special case it is very unlikely that any one from the 2015 batch would be getting these notifications. She said they are still working on the 2011 applications and even the CIC website says that. As per her they are trying to speed up the process and so it might be sooner than anticipated but they still have some ways to go. So now I am confused. Can someone please help me understand why some people here are claiming to have been approved? Did you guys really have a special case?

The lady knows nothing other than that listed on CIC's website!!!

For those whose sponsorship has been approved, is it because your income is much higher than required?

You mean you called to confirm if others' applications are processed or not?! This is funny. Of course, the CIC receptionist does not have the information you asked for , and even if she had she would not tell you. People here sharing their stories and case progress to help not to cause any issues for others, or being questioned like this!! (Nobody claimed anything here as far as I read...)

if your credit card got charge, received file number and AOR already, just patiently wait for next notification.
calling CIC or guessing whether others are telling the truth, doesn't really help speed up the process of your application.

one thing i'm sure, no one here got so-called "special case". their sponsorship got approved because CIC started processing 2014 and 2015 application a few months ago.
