sponsoring parents for PR

hi Guys,

From tomorrow, online forms are getting opened for sponsoring Parents and Grandparents. I would like to check the eligibility for that.

A friend of mine told me that I need to show the Tax return for at least 3 years, however I checked online and I didn't find it written anywhere. Would someone let me know if this is true or not.

I downloaded the form and it has the section to mentioned the financial statement for last 3 years.

The lottery form has already been open for 3 days now. Just go to the interest to sponsor web-form and you can easily see the income requirements:

Income requirements
You (and your co-signer, if applicable) must prove that you have enough income to support all the persons you will be financially responsible for once you become a sponsor.

You’ll have to provide proof that you meet the income requirements for each of the three taxation years right before the date of your application.

So if you don't have 3 years Canadian tax returns meeting LICO, don't bother applying to lottery.

Of course it's compulsory. It's literally right in the definition of being eligible to sponsor.
