Sponsoring parents and in-laws

Hi All,

I would like to apply in Jan for my parents AND in-laws i.e. 4.

Question I have is - How do I fill up the forms (IMM0008ENU_2D) for them? Can I apply for all of them in one application Or do I have to fill up two separate applications?

In the form there is only one Principle Applicant but in my case there will be two Principle Applicants - my father and my father-in-law. Has anyone applied in similar situation before? Do I have to fill IMM0008ENU_2D two times?

You need 2 completely separate application packages.

For your parents you will be sponsor and your spouse is co-sponsor.
For your spouse's parents your spouse is sponsor and you will be co-sponsor.

For family size to calculate LICO income requirement, you need to include everyone. So if it's the 4 parents plus you and spouse (no kids) that will be family size of 6.

Some confusion around the LICO income you mentioned - for both of application package I will have to show 6 (4 parents + I + spouse)? Or I can say 4 for first and then 6 for second application?

I'm pretty sure both require family size of 6, but not 100% sure. I'm not sure how you would designate one package as first and the other as second... I think CIC would treat them both as simultaneous.

You can do it any way you like. There is nothing preventing you from applying for all 4 in January.
