Hi,
If there is a current thread on this, sorry, please advise. If not, here goes...
My wife and I will be sponsoring her parents from China to immigrate. I looked at the CIC website and am surprised now at the wait times. My understanding earlier was it would take about 5 years. However now I noted the following information:
Step 1 = 46 months
Step 2 = 58 months (Beijing)
Total PR approval time = 104 months = almost 9 years
Is this really the case?
Why would the Hong Kong office have the lowest Step 2 time of only 12 months?
Anybody else doing parental sponsorship and can comment on this situation ?
Below is an example for some countries from the CIC website. Remember to add Step 1 (46 months).
Asia and Pacific
