Hello,

I'm a Canadian Citizen and my wife is a PR holder and from India

Recently she went to India while carrying and gave birth to a child in India.

I want to know my options to bring the baby to Canada, and I'm planning to sponsor the baby
Or should I apply for Citizenship Certificate directly and then apply for Canadian passport? (since I'm a Canadian Citizen)

Which option I'm supposed to do?, please advise

Thanks,

You must do the second (as long as you're not a Canadian by descent) - you can I believe apply for citizenship and travel passport directly.

YOu can't sponsor a Canadian citizen to become a PR.

You should look into your options for getting a temporary travel passport, not wait for the certificate then apply for the passport. IRCC is VERY backed up on citizenship certificates - think well over a year processing times. (I know nothing about the temporary travel passport thing beyond it alledgely exists so can't give any info on that.)
