Doc's Request.

Hi there,

I have a question for you guys if you all can help me. I am married to my wife 3 years already. Have 2 babies that are Canadian Citizen by descent (I am being the Canadian citizen) and we all live in Venezuela. Now, it is time to move to Canada, how do I sponsor her from outland. What are the forms for her and me? And would be easier for her to get a visitors visa and do it in Canada?

Let me know you guys think! Thanks!

1. As a Canadian citizen residing abroad you can sponsor your spouse: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp
2. She can apply, but she may or may not get the TRV as it is her intention to remain permanently in Canada rather than visit.
3. You will have to include a plan with your application/sponsorship as to accommodation/work when your spouse is issued her visa.

Thank you pmm. I'll check out the forma ti ser te financial requierements and what they need as pro ve of resettlement...

Okay so I am new and do not know how to make my own post, but this one is very similar to my request.

I am a Canadian male living in South America now for 4 years. I have met the lady I want to marry and spend my life with but want to understand the process, likelihood, cost, length of time etc to come back to Canada to live. Can I send her to Canada before I arrive? Can she practice as a Dentist once she arrives in Canada and what is required for her to do this and time/money involved for her to practice as a Dentist. I know Quebec has some thing going on at this time with inviting Colombians into Canada, is there any other English speaking province doing the same? Would they accept my Venezuelan lady equally as well as a Colombian?

Canadian citizens can sponsor while not in Canada, so that seems possible for you.

Length of time is found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

It looks like its only 15 months from Mexico City office.

Cost: dont quote me on this but you are looking at around $1500.

Likelihood: if you qualify and the marriage is genuine, then the likelihood is good. People who run into trouble usually have some unusual circumstances like getting remarried without getting divorced from their pervious partner, or criminal history, or other complicating factors.

You will also have to show that you can support her in Canada. And that you plan to live in Canada.

Usually not. Typically an Outland application the applicant remains outside of Canada until they complete the process and get their PR. Its called "landing".

If she wants to get a visitor visa then she can come to Canada during the process. But she wouldn't be able to work on the visitor visa. Applying for a visitor visa or a work visa is a separate process she would have to qualify for separately.

Can she practice as a Dentist once she arrives in Canada and what is required for her to do this and time/money involved for her to practice as a Dentist.

She will have to take a certifcation test. I have no idea about the costs, you should research that further.

I don't know what you are refering too so I cant say. If you are sponsoring her under family class then it's the same for everyone (except processing times at the various embassies which vary greatly). You may be thinking of some other kind of program, such as skilled worker? If she applies under the skilled worker program then you wont need to sponsor her under family class. There are several ways of getting PR. Find the best method for you.

Hey buddyboy!

Are you still in Venezuela, this god forsaken place?
