Hi I just want to know if any of you knows how the submission day vs quota works

for 2017 they will be accepting 10000 apps and opens on Jan 3 first come first serve basis

does this means that the first 10K applications received on that day are the ones that will be processed or the 4K leftover from 2016 have a preference?

can anyone shed some light on this

1. If the 2016 quota is filled, then the 4K left over are not processed.
2. If the quota is 10K then the first 10K complete applications will be processed.

Best way to do that is to physically go to the Toronto area and use a same day courier. Last year had many issues for people in areas outside Ontario, especially Alberta and BC, where Pirolator had major delays., causing many to not meet the deadline

Think of it as spending a nice New Years vacation in Toronto

He/she doesn't have to go to Toronto. I sent my completed package from Victoria, BC to a local courier in Toronto (Metro Mississauga Courier) a week in advance. He delivered it first thing on the day they opened the program. It's much cheaper than flying to Toronto.

Cheaper than going to Toronto, but no guarantees it will make it. If you go to last year's PGP thread, many people had shipping delays and for something as important as sponsoring your parents, I would absolutely do everything to maximize my chances of getting in.

I dont even consider it a costly move to fly to TO just for the app, just think of it as spending New Years vacation in Toronto

Yes, I'm aware that there were shipping delays. That's why I said that they can send the complete package a week in advance to a local courier who will deliver it on the day. I'm part of the 2016 batch and that's what I did. There's no need to travel to Toronto, just arrange in advance with the courier and send the package to them.

I'm just presenting it as a more cost efficient method that is guaranteed. There are several local couriers that will let you send the package to them and will guarantee delivery e.g. Metro Mississauga, VW Express, etc.

No - these applications don't get processed. They are returned.
