Where did you park? Did you park elsewhere and walk to the bridge or is there a place to park by the bridge?

You have to actually drive across the bridge and up to the US point of entry. The US border guy at the kiosk will ask the usual questions about citizenship, purpose of your visit, etc. Tell him that you do not wish to enter the US and are just there to "flagpole" and complete your spouse's PR landing. They will turn you around and guide your car through a little gate that takes you back to the Canadian border crossing. You'll drive the 50 feet or so back to the Canadian border crossing. Tell the CBSA officer at that kiosk that you want to do a PR landing. They will take a quick look at your COPR and direct you to the CBSA office on the left where you can park. Take your COPR inside and a CBSA agent in that office will fill out some documents and complete the rest of the process for you. Good luck.

It's very important though that the USA officer gives you a paper that states you actually went to the US side. It will be called an "administrate refusal" or something like that, and will act as proof to the Canadian side that you actually left Canada and re-entered.

Or if you actually want to travel to the US side of Niagara Falls for a bit, you can go into the US border office and get a temporary visitor permit, then travel back to Canadian side at your leisure.

I've been reading this thread for a few days and there is a lot of helpful info here. Congrats to those who got your PR, it was good to see after all of the questions from last year

I just wanted to ask, is the Korea "Individual Register - Resident Register" requested by the CIC? The form that lists all of your registered addresses. I know it's not part of any of the checklists, even the Immigrant's guide with specific Korea instructions, but I wanted to know if it is requested later if you don't initially provide it. I read somewhere in this thread that they do ask for the Entry/Exit form even if it's not required.

I can't believe the COPR finally arrived today. WOO F-ING HOOO!

We submitted our application on October 2, 2012 and we received the COPR on October 1, 2014. Simply shocking. Never did we think it would take this long.

Now to plan our landing!

I have never heard of CIC requesting that particular document. There have been a handful of people who were asked to submit the Entry/Exit document, but I believe that's available, in English, online.

The landing papers are not valid for travel, but she's Korean and therefore visa exempt, so you shouldn't have a problem re-entering.

I can imagine that her landing papers with her Korean passport should make entering pretty straightforward.

In Canada, she is fine. Canadian CBSA officers can easily look up her PR status based on her passport + COPR.

It's just in Korea she may have a problem at the airport. Some Korean airlines are very picky about travelers with no return tickets. You should be ok explaining it's a visa-exempt passport, but you never know. If you try to explain she's a PR, they may demand to see her PR card.

Hopefully it's all fine, but as a very worst case scenario I would be prepared to buy a return ticket on the spot if they force you to. If this happens just make sure it's a fully refundable ticket, and cancel it immediately afterwards.

Going through this forum, it looks like Manilla will ask for appendix A. is this something I can full out and include in my application? or is this the process they require you to follow?

You could, but I suspect they will ask for it again later as one of the items on the Appendix A document is an updated address. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's one of those documents you can complete, scan and email back the same day. I doubt submitting it upfront will speed up your process much.

Thanks! I through it as a common mistake everyone made but this is good news.

Kudos to everyone here, your help has been tremendous. I saw the convo about the police check having or not having the lapsed records and I'm happy to see that we have the correct one. We were in Korea in August 2014 and the police station she went to near Gwanghamun now offers an english version, I guess this is a routine request now since they gave her the lapsed records check without specifically pointing it out.

Now that I'm almost done my application, I'm wondering what is a nice number to have in terms of communications history (skype, text, emails). I have literally over 300 pages in pdf and I'm pretty sure that would be too much to read. I'm hearing 100 pages is good? thoughts?
