Then you are most likely months away from weeks away. When my wife had to do her 're-med' her status was "in process." She got 'decision made' about a month after doing her re-med.

I had everything all at once, then had to pay an extra $300 for the 're-med.' I am sure you can pay the $500 on the CIC website where you pay everything else originaly.

If you're talking about the Right of Permanent Residence Fee, I'd pay that online now. Otherwise they'll request it later which will delay getting your COPR.

thank you for all replies.
I am requested to re do medical and pay for RPRE (received another email )
It seems like getting close to the end (hopefully)

another question, i might worry too much.
we plan to go to border together, all 3 of us, when I land.
My concern is my 2 year old. she is canadian but her passport expired and no photo id to verify herself.
Does she need new passport to cross border, if so, I better apply now.

thank you .

My wife and I did the landing this weekend, so I thought I'd share my experience too. We went to the crossing at Caraway(Piegan crossing) and I would definitely recommend it to other albertans. It's a small crossing, and there was almost nobody there when we showed up at 3pm on Saturday. We answered a couple questions to enter the U.S. side and then went into the office to get the official letter denying entry. We were only on the States side for less than 10 minutes. Coming back, the canadian side was just as easy. We told them we were doing a landing so tey told us to park and come in. They asked a couple questions, had us wait in the waiting room for maybe 5 minutes, then called us up to give us our copy of the paperwork and to say congratulations.
They were all business, but not unpleasant at all and we got not hassles at all about doing a flagpole. From reaching the border to being back in te car driving home took no more than 20-30 minutes. And I'm glad it's done!!!

My question now is, does anyone know how to go about transferring money from Korea to here now that she has approval? Does she get a tax free transfer, or is she going to be slammed with taxes to send a significant amount back?

What i am told from Bank (KEB) , if you are landed immigrant, you can transfer up to $50.000 (tax free).
not sure if this is correct, you can call them or check out their web site. `

Put it all in the landed spouse's name, they are allowed a one time unlimited transfer.

Quick question. Called around to a few different notary publics in metro Vancouver and as expected they are quite pricey. Seems like prices range from $70-$75 per translated/notarized page.

My wife was searching on Naver, and apparently the Embassy of Korea will notarize documents for a measly $4 (if I recall correctly) per page once they are translated, provided the translator shows up and vouches for the the translated documents. They did mention that the translator had to be a third party (so no relatives).

Just wondering if anyone has done this, or knows of anyone that went to the embassy with documents translated to get them notarized?

Thanks!

Hi Jaylee, I did my process in Korea, but we went to basically ANY notary - there isn't a strict "must visit these people" lists for notary publics like there is for say, doing your medical. So, if this is any help, I'd say the embassy would be fine, as I showed up to a guy in Daegu who had his office above a chicken joint. $4 does sound awfully cheap though. Doesn't surprise me it would be cheaper than Canadian prices, but $4 (per page, I'm assuming) seems super cheap! I forget off the top of my head, but i think we paid about 20,000 won per sheet to be notarized.

long story short, i'd say you'd be more than fine, and grab that $4 deal while you can!

It's much much cheaper to get it done in Korea. Just find a courthouse and look around the surrounding area. There will be a ton of places there where they will do it fairly cheap. Good luck.

Hello everyone thanks for all the super helpful advice in this thread.

We are at the stage of doing a trial run of filling out all the documents for outland application and despite consulting the Guides 3900 and 3999, I am having trouble wrapping my head around the language for a couple boxes. Please bear with me. I am sure I missed something really simple and that this is a bit of a dumb question.

Form IMM0008: Box 3. "How many family members, including you, are in this application?"

Do I include myself (the sponsor) in this box as I am also the spouse? So with no children involved, does this mean that this box should be entered as 1 person or 2 people?

Thanks in advance for any assistance :)

hello.
I just received my ATIP and the status is in progress.
I remembered some one said "in process " means better than "in progress"
Should i be worried?

FYI: requested to re do med and pay RPRF recently.

thanks

I think so. It is better than "Not started". I used to have "Not started" noted all over on my GCMS note. It seems like a lot of people are stuck "in process" for a long time in Manila VO these days. Again, you were requested something from them. I hope your processing is close to an end!
What is your timeline? I am a former inland applicant who reapplied outland in December 2014. Mine has been transferred to Manila office after SA.
