I quit my job recently to travel to my husband's country (Austria) and live with him there for 3 months while we worked through our visa paperwork. Now that I have returned to Canada, our application is ready to send except for one detail.. On the IMM5481 form it asks about my employment information and I'm having a bit of confusion, hopefully one of you will be able to help!
I'm currently unemployed by choice. I am living with my parents to save money (and will be staying with them even after I get another job, so that my husband and I have saved enough together to find our own place), but will be actively searching for a new job come January. If I can't find something else, my former employer has said that I am welcome to come back any time. But, I will be unemployed when the application is sent in. My parents have said they are willing to offer us a place to live rent-free until we get on our feet after he lands in Canada.
Once I get another job, will I have to send CIC additional information letting them know that my situation has changed? If I change jobs, do I need to update them? Would it be better for me to wait to send the application in until after I have found another job (I expect by mid january or so)? Will my sending them my new employment information delay our visa process? Any information about this stuff is welcomed! Thanks!
