Hi! My fiance is from Brazil (precisely São Paulo) and we want to live together asap. We're in a ldr since 3 years and met each others for 3 months last year. I'd love him to immigrate here in Canada (more precisely in Quebec as I live there). We can't get married yet because I cant travel due to pandemic but as soon I can , we will. We are 21 and 19 years old so we young and broke lol

Question is: I'm a full time student and therefore got no job. I live with my dad as well. I have no income except a few graphic design contracts I do in my free time and money given from him for my studies. So I'm like making like 3500 cad a year lol. I barely spend money and all I have in bank is savings. I have roughly 5200 cad there

Is this even possible to be eligible for me to be a sponsor? I read theres no income requirement at all but how can the Gov see me as an eligible sponsor then? Like yes I live with my dad and I'm a citizen ect but would sponsoring him worth it? Also, what do they mean by I need to assure him a job? What do I gotta show ? He would not have done his studies in game development so therefore come here without college degree. Hes thinking of finding any kind of job just to get money so he could enroll in a university as a pr.

We really wanna live together asap as it's been quite a while we are in a ldr n stuff but we feel it's impossible :(

Thank you all !

There is no income requirement for a spousal sponsorship, but there is a provision for applications to be refused if the sponsor is unwilling or unable to provide for the applicant.
Sometimes love and a desire to be together are not enough. You need to present to IRCC some life plan that demonstrates that the two of you are not immediately going to need social benefits because neither of you has any means of financial support.

Financial reasons

39 A foreign national is inadmissible for financial reasons if they are or will be unable or unwilling to support themself or any other person who is dependent on them, and have not satisfied an officer that adequate arrangements for care and support, other than those that involve social assistance, have been made.

Thank you so much for your answer! Do you think i could find him a job here ? Do you happen to know any employer who would hire someone having skills in administration, game development, or just a job that only requires high school diploma? We dont think sponsoring is the best idea so we are looking for jobs at the moment so he could get a letter in order to have a work permit.

You should assume getting a work permit will not be possible. An employer would need to go through the LMIA process to hire him which is a long (4-6 month) and expensive process. It's extremely difficult to find employers who are willing to do this. As a first step, the employer would need to advertise the job in Canada for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be hired for the role. Given the COVID-19 pandemic and impacts on jobs in Canada, it's going to be especially difficult to get an approved LMIA now.

If he only has a high school education and he or his parents have sufficient funds saved (at least $25,000), he can look into coming here on a study permit. That is a far more realistic option than the work permit.

As others have stated there is no income requirement for SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP. So the key there is you would have to be married before you could be a Sponsor for the spousal visa, just FYI. Honestly the spousal sponsorship is your best option (assuming this to be a serious relationship) as you wouldn't qualify for Common-law, and Conjugal is very difficult, as is a work visa as noted above.
