Would this be a problem? Does this make him automatically be refused ? He had lived in UK and was ordered to leave the country but he overstayed and then was sent back to his country. I got married to him recently and am sponsoring him to canada as a spouse but since this is mentioned in his papers I am wondering if this means he will be automatically refused or if we can appeal it?

Otherwise I guess i would have to go live in his country with him. :( This seems like it is going to be a major problem.

PLEASE give me some input and your opinion on it if you know of any cases or any ideas about it. How should I go about handling this situation?

That will be issue if he already deported by other country coz they will be check he's background activity and if he from Pakistan srilanka or Bangladesh then no doubt it will be a red flag.

So there is no chance of him being approved at all? I am wondering if hiring a lawyer would help this or its just one of the things that just cannot work?

Oh No i did not say that no chance. but it will be hard now to ex-plane to CIC.

but in this kind of case batter u get a lawyer coz it's batter then they push u under appeal which one is take long time and expensive too
don't be worry coz he just deportd due to over stay and hope fully not due to any crime case if not then will be fine.

Do you have any idea of how much estimated time it may take if I put this in application? Also how can I get police certificate for him from UK ? Do they keep a record of the people who are deported from the UK?

For police cert look at www.acpo.police.uk/certificates

As for being deported it may not be a problem. If he was deported for overstaying and is now applying properly to join you in Canada then I have not seen anywhere that he will be excluded.
