Sponsoring from outside Canada

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with this query. I'm a Canadian citizen living outside of Canada. My family were thinking of returning to Canada. If I sponsor my husband , ideally I would prefer if he was set up in a permanent job before myself and children follow on. Is there any way that he could go before us or do we all have to travel at the same time?

Thanks,

Earlsfort

He would have to have become a permanent resident before he could go to Canada and get a job.
Which means, filing the application and sending to Mississauga where they assess you as a sponsor. After approval (which currently takes 55 days) the application will be sent to the visa office representing the country your husband is from. They will approve or deny the application (the time this takes varies between visa offices). The VO will then request your husbands passport to issue a one entry visa to Canada. After getting the passport back, he must 'land' after which he can obtain a SIN and work.

You as the Sponsor and Canadian citizen will also have to show proof of your wish to return to canada, job, home searches, letters from friends/family allowing you to stay that sort of thing.

Good luck!
