Sponsoring Common Law - change of circumstances & advice required

Hoping somebody can offer some advice.

I am sponsoring my common law partner for PR through the new OWP scheme (applied inland, AOR received April 22nd). I am Canadian and my partner is British. There is a possibility I will lose my job in the next few weeks and I am concerned about the impact that will have on the sponsorship and PR application we submitted. We both currently live in Canada.

If the worse case happens I will obviously be looking for work elsewhere quickly, but what impact can this have on my Girlfriends application?

It will not have any impact as long as you don't access welfare or become bankrupt.

OK that's reassuring to hear, I wondered if my ability to sponsor my girlfriend was affected by my employment status.
