Good Morning to you all!

First and foremost I'd like to thank all of the helpful people on this site, I remember using it in 2008 and many questions on my mind were already here. It was time of anxiety and eagerness to reach Canada. Today I am proud Canadian Citizen and just received my passport yesterday. I thank this wonderful forum for helping me at tat time.

First, a bit of background about my situation: Which is very difficult and heart rendering.

I am now a proud Canadian, currently living in BC. My elder sister and younger sister too live close by.

My another elder sister lives in US, She is US CITIZEN and my old mother Aged 76 years US Citizen too lives with her.

Every thing was going well but then I lost my younger brother in a helicopter crash in 2011 in India and since then my mother became very weak.

In 2015 we had another sever issue in the family, my elder sister with whom my mother was living in US was diagnosed with AML (BLOOD CANCER) and is in hospital.

Now there is no one to take care of my Mom, or she is in poor health, is on single kidney, daibatic and needs constant monitoring.

My mother had been with me, but she goes to US and it has been in and out , while we are trying to cope with the situation.

As on today she is with me in Vancouver and I am ok by taking care of her. My sisters are supporting and it is not a big issue. It is not six months since she came here.

I want to keep her here as there is no body in US or India who can take care of her.

What I know is

1st I need to apply some sort of extension visa for her.

2nd I need to apply for her some sort of permanent visa, like grand parents or parents (which will open in January 2017).

Here are some of my questions and I will appreciate if somebody could help me.

1. What should I do to make her overstay legal in Canada, I still have 3 months before 6 month expiry.
2 What is the best way for a Canadian Citizen to get his old and suffering US Citizen parent to get in Canada ASAP on humanitarian grounds.

I appreciate anyone reading this wall of text here and giving me some insight! I am keeping my fingers crossed and different people tell me different things. Like that rules are very different for US CITIZENS.

In short: MY MOTHER stands to gain nothing by COMING HERE and it is crisis time in the family, so can immigrating to Canada or permanent stay can be arranged for her in Canada.

Please help and suggest me the best options ....
Thanks ! to all

There is no special immigration stream for US citizens. Her US citizenship gives her no benefits when it comes to immigrating to Canada.

You have two options for bringing her to Canada permanently:

1) She can apply for H&C while in Canada. Upside of this option is that she can apply now. Downside is that CIC may feel her application doesn't meet H&C requirements and it's quite possible she may be refused.
2) You can sponsor her for PR via the parent sponsorship immigration stream once applications are accepted again in January.

Note that her medical conditions could make it difficult for her to immigrate to Canada if her condition is quite advanced.
