sponsoring a wife in mississagua... need help please

hi, i have a concern and I would appreciate your insights and comments.
I am a PR since 2009, I got it through CSQ (Quebec). I was working in Europe before and I didn't want to move to Canada until getting a job offer. I moved to Prince Edward Island only 8 months ago because I got a job here fitting with my skills and my careers perspectives since I am a Ph.D. and it is not easy to find a postdoc or scientis position. I got married on February 12 in Morocco and I sent a sponsorship application (for my wife) to Mississagua on 11th April (2 months ago). I did not receive any answer from the immigration office yet. Do you think it is normal? Is it taking too long?
I am very concerned on being living in another procince than Quebec, because I am supposed to be living in Quebec. Do you think this would affect my sponsorship application?

Hello I can only answer to one part of your message regarding the process time. I would suggest you check this website.. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp
Also you could join the group for April applicants to know when others are getting approval.. As it stands they are taking approx 90days for step 1.. I applied March 23 and I still have not heard anything so to answer that part of your post yes its normal you didnt hear anything yet...
