I married my husband in 2008. My sponsorship was approved in Nov 08. In February of 2009, he had his interview and since then we have heard nothing. In the interview he was questioned about his Army attendance? He is Serbian but was Born and raised in Croatia. He was there during the war between Serbia and Croatia but was only 16. He was never involved in the war but we feel that this is the issue that is keeping us apart. At the interview he was asked to complete additional questionnaires about the Army, and since than we have not heard from them. Each time that we contact the Embassy in Serbia we are told that they are still awaiting admissibility checks to be competed from Canada. They keep telling us that the whole case has been sent back to Canada for investigation. It has now been a year since his interview and we want to hear something back. Has anyone had similar situations, and how long did it take you to get them resolved. I think that this tied to investigations to war crimes, which does''t make sense. Please share any experiences. Thanks

You could order CAIPS Notes to know what is going on.

The OP's spouses delay is him being a Serbian from Croatia and was in the military, the background check will take a verrrrrrrrrrrrrry long time.

Really no guesses, the military service is going to slow it up, on trackitt there are only 3 Serbian listed, processing time 95 days to 468 days.
