Hi all, as you know because of covid, many people are facing financial difficulties. I've lost my job and currently relying on recovery benefit. I would like to sponsor my wife over sometimes in june. The problem is i don't have much money in my bank, only around 20k saved up. I do know that my wife has about 50k saved up in her bank. If we combine these money together, would there be any trouble on the sponsor process?

Assume you are citizen. There are no financial requirements but you can’t be on welfare. Is your wife in Canada with you and why haven’t you started the process because it can take over a year.

i am canadian citizen, no criminal record and filed my taxes every year. we got married in 2019 but she has a business to take care of in hong kong.
Was never on welfare and currently living with family as well. I do know that it takes awhile to get the process done but i really do hope i'm qualified to start the process.

You could have started the process in 2019. There are no income requirements for spousal sponsorship.

20K and 50K would be considered quite a lot of savings. IRCC would be more concerned if you were unemployed and had 5-10K in the bank or less.
