I applied for family sponsorship because my wife is in Canada and I have passed medical, 7 months back then immediately I had submitted my scheduled A background, police report and birth certificate but after that it has been 7 months there is no message in my account by CIC. I am worried!! What happened? Experts! Please suggest me!

Its not unusual not to hear from IRCC for months after medical until you probably receive request for passport.........the complete processing time on the IRCC website says 12 months.........it could take less than 12 months or more..........relax.........its a wait game.

Most sponsorship follow these steps (the order may vary).
  1. Application received at IRCC Mississauga
  2. CIC Mississauga started processing application
  3. Receive Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR 1)
  4. Link Application to Online Account
  5. Uploaded Schedule A form to Online Account
  6. Sponsor Approval and File transfer to VO
  7. VO starts processing PR application (AOR 2)
  8. Receive Request for Medical Exam
  9. Medical Exam @ IRCC Panel Physician Clinic
  10. Medical Exam Result
  11. Final Review (may request additional doc if needed b4 approval).
  12. Passport Request (PPR)
  13. Pick-up Permanent Residency Visa (PUM)

Thank you But in my case, after linking my application, first they asked medical, after I passed medical they asked Schedule A form, police report and birth certificate together. Is it the right way?

They had asked me school certificate, voters id and birth certificate for the birth date proof but I submitted only birth certificate only as a proof instead of all 3 documents. Does it affect in processing?

What country is the Principal Applicant residence ?

Check your country specific requirements.......if IRCC ask for 3 documents.......better you provide the 3 documents and if not possible be ready to provide convincing reason why you can't provide all documents requested.

Principal applicant residence is Nepal. Due to misunderstanding I had sent only one document and didn’t give any reason for other remained documents because I understood any one document.

Country specific requirements

Nepal – Instruction(s) for documents
  • Birth certificates issued in this country: If a birth is registered late, include the original baptism certificate and other original documents establishing identity such as:
    • Old school records (Fifth class, Middle standard and Matriculation/secondary school certificate), and
    • Voter's ID card.

if IRCC ask for 3 documents.......better you provide the 3 documents and if not possible to provide any document.......provide convincing reason why you can't provide any document requested.......to avoid delays and refusal.

Based on the Country specific requirements for Nepal........you are only required to provide the other original documents establishing identity.......if a birth is registered late.
