My Canadian daughter would like to sponsor her husband to move back to Canada. They currently live in USA (she has her green card). He works remotely for an IT company in USA. His company has no affiliations with Canada. Can he go the inland route, and continue to work for this USA company? The company has already agreed to use a 3rd party in the future for his pay (they pay the company USd, the company pays him cdn, and removes all appropriate taxes). Does anyone have experience with this? They would like to move as soon as possible, but don’t want to move up and then have issues because he is working too soon.

this is tricky. hubby does remote work as well, but if he continues to work for his USA company, when he comes here he's on tourist visa. this means he can't work while being here and can't get paid in CAD in a Canadian bank account I believe.

She can go the outland route, or prepare the application and come here while he takes time off. Apply and wait for the OWP and then he can continue to work. I believe this is the safer and the legal route so he won't have any trouble.
