There is no minimum income requirement for sponsoring a spouse; however, if you are unemployed or have no income, you need to submit an explanation as to how you are going to financially support your spouse during the course of the sponsorship. For some people, this includes proof of job offers, job searches, letters from family saying they will help financially, etc. You must not be on social assistance.
