.
To abbreviate my story ... I am married to a Canadian resident (born in Canada), we were married in Chile 8 years ago, we have 2 Chilean children who are now Canadian citizens. We just arrived 5 months ago. We rent on our own, but she is the only one who works. we no longer receive social assistance.
I will extend my visa because I am now a full-time dad and my visa is about to expire (I know I must have legal status). We know that we have to make the spouse request, but our doubts point to:
will it have to show any minimum income ?, in theory it only sponsors me, and the same page indicates that it is not an option that happens.
Is there any way to get the work permit before applying? considering that the application is very expensive and I need to help my wife financially.
We are a family that comes to meet, isn't that what Canada wants? The truth is that I need to help her with money, because it has been difficult to establish, Toronto is relatively expensive. Basically we are a young family with young children, I don't want to separate from them, they have grown up with me.
Meanwhile, we continue to raise money for the application and work permit. I thank you very much if you could guide us, because she has only her days off to process this.
Thanks!
