Sponsor ship for spouse

I submitted last June the document for the sponsorship for my spouse. I'm Canadian and we both live in South Africa and want to move to Canada this year in June. I paid everything and the application was send to Mississaugu. We never heard anything, from the email we got, we never got an answer, we send an email 4 times with all the details! Has someone the same problem and what can we do??

You should have gotten sponsor approval about 2 months after applying (give or take)

Yes thats what I thought and since than we try to get hold of someone at CIC but it seems impossible. My sister in Canada called CIC and after 2 hours she finally got hold of someone. They gave her the email address where we send all the request, but nothing. Very frustrating.

would a couriered 1 page message asking to check my application sent on xxx date is received and if they can reply back to this e-mail address in case the e-mail address on the application had a typo.

Reading other post seems it's hard to contact CIC but they always answer their courier.

Thank you for the info, I will courier a request with the payment receipt, maybe I will get an answer before we are leaving for Canada.

I don't have a file number, means I can't make a request. Will try to courier a request and hope I will get an answer in time, before we relocating to BC. Maybe someone had the same problem like we do. We got a confirmation from the courier service that the application was delivered last year June, but thats all, never heard anything from CIC!

The MP for either the riding where the sponsor previously lived in Canada or the riding where they intend to live.

Today I send a letter via courier to CIC, hope they coming back to me soon. Otherwise the MP from Vernon, that where we are going, is maybe an option. Thank you very much for all the help!

Dear Gjack,

First, of all I hope you get an answer soon. Can you ask for support from a local Embassy. Can you post the email you sent your information to. I definitely agree with others you should have had some confirmation by now at least to confirm your application was received. From my experience you wont get reply to an email and it seems they are receiving so may emails it would be easy for yours to get lost. I sent information to a general email and they must have lost it as they asked for it again a month later. Take care and best wishes.
