Hi

I am wondering is that possible to sponsor my mother this year, and then my father after several years (due to his business, he doesn't want to move to other place at this point)

Thanks

Yes - you would sponsor your mother as the primary applicant (assuming you are selected through the lottery) and include your father as a non-accompanying dependent.

Your mother can then sponsor your father through spousal sponsorship once he is ready to come to Canada to live here.

Note that when you sponsor your mother, you will still need to show enough income to cover both your mother and your father.

As long as you have enough income in the previous 3 years for a family size that includes your father, you can sponsor just your mother.

Note that your father has to go through medical, police check and security as well. (needed to be paid)

Then your mother can sponsor him in the future as a spouse.
