Hello,
I am a Canadian citizen who has been living outside of Canada with my wife for 2 years. We applied outland and already have SA and Medical done. In the application for intent to return to Canada I showed how all my assets are tied to Canada, my work is remote, and my family is expecting me. I stated that I intended to return with my wife when she does her landing.
Well as things often do in life, my situation has changed. We've decided it was better for our future for me to accept a new work opportunity back in Canada and get things settled. So I will be returning soon and no longer living with my wife for a little while. It is possible I might come back to her country but more likely I will only join her during her landing in Canada.
So should I be reporting this update to IRCC?
My concern is that if they call her in for an interview and she reveals I went to Canada ahead of her, they might see it as a red flag for not updating them.
The flip side is maybe the update will trigger her to actually need an interview? Or possibly causing the application to take longer.
I would love to hear opinions and know if this is seen by IRCC as typical/normal or cause for concern.
Cheers
