Hello,

I was wondering, I want to sponsor my wife from Lebanon as soon as possible because there is war over there now and I am worried about her safety.
I just finished the regular sponsorship form for her and about to submitted tomorrow. Before I do so, do I have options where I can make the process quicker?
I do not care about paying more money or doing anything extra, I just want her to come and live besides me in Canada.

Any suggestions please?
Thank you in advance, I really appreciate your commentary.

Best.

What being a refugee? I am not sure about all the details but if there is a war there she can ask for refuge in Canada.
Here is the link and maybe you can read more about it.

Hi

There is no way to speed up a sponsorship application.

As for the refugee suggestion, your wife would have to be able to prove that she is at direct risk for torture and death within her country. She would have to be listed as a refugee with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees or another refugee organization that would refer her to Canada for re-settlement.

There is no way to make spousal sponsorship quicker. The best you can do is put together a complete application. Some people get through faster, others don't.

If your wife is in serious danger and has proof (such as hospital records, news paper articles naming her an enemy of the government), she can apply for refugee status outside of Canada. Lebanon is consider the most stable of the Middle East countries..... so good luck with that.

You can also try to get her a Visitor's visa, then sponsor her inside Canada, so she doesn't have to leave.

i have the same situation. i have submitted the sponsorship application. i also plan on applying for a visitor visa for her. i sent my application in may and things seem promising so far.

Visitor Visa or somehow having here here as a refugee is the only way I can think.
Currently, you are looking at an almost 2 year wait for her permanent residency.

You mention cost not being an issue, look at the other visas available. I think it may be currently closed but there was a visa if you invest $500k into government entrepreneurial bonds. There's provincial visas too but I'm not sure on timelines. But check out what options there are

That wait for EPR is over 8 years.

Try for Visitor Visa after Sponsor approval. Slightly better chance (still close to 0%) of getting approved.
