Hi Guys

I am a permanent resident of Canada and recently got married in India. At present, I am in India with my wife and waiting for the flight ban to be lifted.

Can I still send my spousal PR application although I (The sponsor) am presently in India?

Do I have to physically be in Canada right now?

I couldn't find anywhere on CIC website where it says so though.

How about if I apply while in Canada. I am PR since 3 years. And then maybe after 1 month or so of the application I leave the country. What happens in that case ? Any one has any information?

If you leave for 2-3 weeks and then return to Canada, then no issues.

If you leave for several months, then you risk having your application refused. We've seen recent examples of this happening.

No, do not send before returning. You should only submit when physically in Canada. And should remain in Canada throughout, save for 'short trips' abroad. (No, no precise definition of short trips)
