My husband and I are beginning the process of applying for PR.
My questions are:
1) I have been with him in South Africa on and off for the last 4 years, so my income has been significantly less than had I been working full time in Canada. Will I get denied as a sponsor because of my lower income over the last year? I am a Registered Nurse and have started working in Canada again, but the forms are asking for income over the last 12 months.
2) Ideally we would like to apply for PR from inside Canada, however my husband is an international freelance entertainer/performer, and his work requires him to travel internationally. If we apply from INSIDE, can he not leave the country at all??? The website is quite vague, not really giving an answer one way or the other. I also have yet to come across an immigration consultant that has ever dealt with Performing artists immigrating to Canada.
If anyone has any tips or can refer me to someone that has actually worked with Performing artists that would be great
Brooke
