Hi.
i was PR and applied to sponsor for my wife - spouse PR.

while the process is going on,
I have become a Canadian citizen.
how to update this to immigration officer for my wife.

also, we have a baby born during this time.
One month old now.
We got an email from IRCC to add this kid into the file. - ADD-ON.
But this kid can also get citizenship certificate as i am a citizen before we was born.
Could u please help me
- how to update my citizinhship information to them. Would that affect the application?
- shall we add this kid as add-on. Or apply for citizenship directly? If so, how to tell them he will not be add on. But on his own.

You can simply send a webform advising that you became a citizen. It doesn't actually affect much in your sponsorship.

Was the child born in Canada? Or abroad?

If the child was born in Canada, just send birth certificate with note that the child is a citizen - see birth certificate.

If born abroad, I would instead do the following:
-contact embassy how to apply for passport.
-this will usually involve applying for certificate of citzienship, AND submitting a copy of that stuff to embassy along with passport application. (They'll issue temp passport on basis of presumptive citizenship).
-provide copy of eg application of certificate of citizenship to IRCC via webform, mentioning MULTIPLE TIMES that the child does not need to be added and is not being sponsored and is not applying to become a PR because THE CHILD IS A CITIZEN.

They sometimes will send the request for medical despite child being a citizen. Send it back saying no no no, child is a citizen.

thank you so much.
The baby is born in india.
I wonder about the processing times for child to get passport and the mother’s spose visa.

My wife’s spouse visa is that the CoPR stage.

We would like to get back to Canada as soon as possible.
thanks in advance

I also have another question -

We got Indian passport for the baby yesterday. It was pretty quick.
can i bring my baby on visiting Visa ? To speed up mom’s process.

They will likely not issue visa to the child except in actual emergency (extremely rare).

And even that you would first have to apply for the citizenship certificate.

Contact the high commission (consular section). You may have desire to have this happen quickly but there is no discussion of quick even possible until you start.
