For question number 4, where it states, "Do you reside in Canada and in no other country?" (If you answered "NO", but are a Canadian citizen living exclusively outside Canada, you may still be eligible to sponsor). This question comes under the document IMM1344, Application to sponsor, sponsorship agreement and undertaking.

I am a Canadian citizen living in Pakistan with my wife who is currently a Pakistani citizen. I am applying for her permanent residence through the IRCC Permanent residence platform. Recently we received an email from IRCC that we made an error in one of the documents.

For question 4, I have answered "NO" because I am living in Pakistan with my wife. Do I need to change my answer to "Yes"?

Anyone's help would be appreciated in this matter.

Thank You

Warm Regards

What makes you think that you have to answer yes if, as you say, you live in Pakistan?
What exactly the letter from IRCC says?

canadians living out of canada CAN sponsor their spouses and partners provided they can demonstrate intent to return to canada once the visa/pr for the partner is approved.

the Error you received is not because of ticking the wrong box there, since you DO live in Pakistan with your spouse. Go through all the forms again thoroughly, if they stated which form, refill and submit. also perhaps maybe Maybe the form is outdated?

Agree the issue isn’t about your residency location.
