Any updates after November 2? My application to sponsor two dependent kids is at the "Medical results received" back in October 2022. We recently received the pre-arrival services email but after that there is no indication that DM is coming soon within the next month or so. Don't know what is holding up since as minor dependents, presumably no background check is required. We could only hope for joyful news this holiday season !

I just received the pre- arrival services email too. I wonder if this pre- arrival document are able to apply health card?

For applicants for permanent residence

  • Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) letter (IRCC used to be called Citizenship and Immigration Canada, or CIC). The letter must:
    • be on IRCC letterhead, addressed to you as applicant
    • state IRCC has confirmed you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence in Canada and you have not yet been denied.
  • IRCC document (e.g. work permit, visitor record, temporary resident permit or study permit), with a note confirming all three of the following. You have:
    1. applied for permanent residence
    2. met the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence
    3. have not been denied
    4. You need to wait until the child has PR.

Seems it didn’t say I need copr for applying an ohip

The rules you've quoted apply to inland spousal sponsorship and receiving AIP. Dependent child applications are handled as outland applications and no AIP is issued.
