I qualify for sa based on the eligibility check list but in the months to come it will change which will make me ineligible. Question, will they revisit my eligibility. The vo is Kingston. It's an Outland application. Thanks

In what way will you become ineligible?

My question is will sponsor eligibility be checked again. In response to your curious question. I may have to file bankruptcy and in Canada it takes 9 months for a discharge.

CIC can and does check sponsor eligibility later. So CIC may find out, and that would cause you problems.

I asked because you could become ineligible in many ways, such as divorce, a PR moving abroad, going on welfare, etc.

If you go on social assistance (welfare) or go bankrupt after SA, then yes - there's certainly a possibility your application may be refused. If CIC finds out about your status change, you can certainly expect your application to be refused. You should do what you can to avoid filing until after the entire application has been approved.

This is not good. :( :( I may have to wait 9 months for my discharge. Before I can apply to sponsor my husband

I believe they check into financial affairs somewhat, since you have to proof you can support yourselves without welfare. They do that during the sponsored applicant phase. However I doubt they run a credit check, but they might have another way of viewing a sponsor's bankruptcy status.

I'm gainfully employed long term. My employment history is solid. I'm thinking if you are not eligible in what called a undischarged bankruptcy. And it takes up to 17 months for application processing. I will be discharged by then as that takes 9 months. Ugh. So much to examine.

It doesn't actually take 17 months 10-12 months max unless there's issues with the application, I'd recommend you put off filing bankruptcy until after your husband gets here just to be on the safe side, you should join the Kingston thread

Impatient wife, thanks. I may hold this off The bankruptcy. im on the Kingston thread :D application is going in April 22. Look forward to getting on the spreadsheet and begin the wait. Which has been long overdue.
