Hi All,
Can we speed up PR card processing once we land in Canada?
The site mentions about a toll free number for assistance. Can we call them up to speed up the process?
Also, please let me know the normal timeline to receive the PR card.
Thank you ,
KRG.

No it cannot be expedited for newcomers.

No you cant speed it.

Typical processing time for PR Card for newly residents is; 33 calendar days

(This time applies if you have provided your mailing address in Canada)

But we have seen timeline varies and usually takes around 2 months atleast.

Hi Friends,

Is it possible to have the PR Card delivered to an UPS Mailbox with forwarding. Because I may have to return to home country once after landing and I cannot wait in Canada for 2 months....Would appreciate ur advice...

How do I prove my travel plans when I am applying for urgent processing of my permanent resident Card?

When applying for urgent processing, we need a photocopy of your proof of travel and proof of payment to prove your travel plans.

The proof of travel, such as tickets or an itinerary, must show:

the dates you will be traveling,
your personal information such as your full name,
your travel provider's information such as airline, train, bus, or boat company name, and
your destination (where you are going).
The proof of payment can be part or full price for your travel. It must show:

the date that you paid,
the amount paid, and
how you paid.
Make sure the photocopies are clear. We must be able to read all of the information listed above. If you do not include this information or we cannot read it, we may not process your application urgently. We will process it normally.

Include a photocopy of your proof of travel and proof of payment with your application.

The proof of travel, such as tickets or an itinerary, must show:

the dates you will be traveling,

that you have a return ticket, and
your destination (where you are going).
The proof of payment must show full price for your travel. It must show:

Next Steps: Within 10 business days, you can check the status of your application online.

If your travel date is in less than three weeks:

This does not apply to the very first issue of a PR card.
