Hi guys,

Do we have to inform CIC about speeding, parking tickets ( from New Zealand) and what if we have some due parking fines with ministry of justice ???

Just my opinion.. but someone else should clarify. I'd guess that something along those lines would not be considered a major offence that the governments would deny you entry. Do not provide information that they do no ask for. They simply ask for a record check. Provide the record check only.

I seriously doubt speeding tickets are an issue unless it was so severe that you get charged for reckless driving or something similar. Parking tickets don't matter.

If your tickets are for driving on the wrong side of the road, simply explain that you were practicing for Canada and that this will not be an issue here.

There is a driver abstract (driving record) and a criminal record, these are two different things.

As long as your driving incidents are not so severe that they are criminal in nature and has caused you some jail time, fines or community service which leads to a criminally chargeable offence - you are OK.

You should contact your police department and clear off any fines related to your driving habits as the police may not be able to grant you a "Police clearance" certificate.
