Case in point: I have meet a family who came from Kuwait. They wanted to move out of Kuwait for their children's sake. They have applied to to immigrate to European countries. They couldn't meet any of the country's requirement.screech339 said:Immigration should be based on employment demand in Canada. How often have we seen people coming to Canada under the points system that doesn't consider job demand in the equation, only to see them unable to get jobs based on their education or even find any job. They should have not gotten any points for their education credit if Canada doesn't recognize it in the first place. You shouldn't be able to get points if there are no job demand for it. You often see them show up in Canada to find that there are no jobs for them waiting because there were no job demand for them.
The current immigration system that replaced the points system made more sense as it is based on actual job demand.

They tried Canada. They were able to qualify under the old points system due to having a business degree at an university and speak English. There was no job demand for his field of work and Canada doesn't accept his university credentials.
They showed up and haven't been able to get any jobs related to his work. Again mostly due to no job demand, and his potential employers were not accepting his education credentials. He ends up doing minimum wage job if he could find one and now currently living on monthly child benefits to get by.
That doesn't seems like a fair approach to an immigrant wanting to move and live in Canada. If there were no jobs for him he shouldn't have been able to come here in the first place. He would have probably still be in a good paying job in Kuwait today.
