Saw my ecas updated with line for Oath invite, but did not receive any letter, so I contacted IRCC and got informed that the oath is going to be at March 6th at a Lawn Bowling Club, which is ... quite weird. Just curious is this a form of special oath ceremony? How long shall I expect it to last since I need to book the day off.

Thanks!

Where is your local office?

you can check the schedule here and the location.

I notice that IRCC sometimes do the ceremony in a different place and not at the IRCC office.

Some people say that it could last about 2 hours. .

As of just now, there are no ceremonies listed for March 6th at a lawn bowling club on the above URL.

Allow a whole day to the event and celebration of your new status. 2 hours may be cutting it close, especially if it's a "special" ceremony, with all the trimmings.

I checked and it is not in the official IRCC list so that's why I'm asking here. I didn't receive any email letter, only a response from IRCC agent telling me the time and address.

I have friend who attended oath ceremony at a Raptors game, singing O Canada at half-time, at center of the court. So I say an Oath ceremony can even happen at night and last up to 3 hours (avg length of NBA game..)

Yeah that's what I'm wondering about. I assume it is a Special ceremony so trying to find if anyone got the same invite.
