Hi Everyone,

Please how can we push the below message across to Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration?
He is not likely to see the message if sent to his official email address because thousands of messages are sent to his official email address.

Thank you.

Dear Honourable Minister of Immigration,

Temporary measures to address the labour shortage and the current delays in the processing of immigration pathways for recently graduated international students.

  • The 18-month PGWP extension which expires on December 31, 2022 should be extended to 2023. Only a single extension is to be allowed for any candidate.
  • Students who studied for one year should be given 30 (12+18) months of PGWP instead of the current 12-month PGWP effective January 2023. Such students will not be entitled to a PGWP extension.
  • Students who studied for two or more years should be given 48 months of PGWP instead of the current 36-month PGWP effective January 2023. Such students will not be entitled to a PGWP extension.
  • International students are experiencing huge delays in obtaining extensions of their study permits and a lot of them end up graduating on "maintained status". In order to help such students continue to sustain themselves, kindly allow international students who have applied for PGWP (while on maintained status) to work while awaiting their PGWP approval, just like other international students who apply for PGWP (with valid study permits) are allowed to work while awaiting the approval of their PGWP.
The above measures can be reversed when the processing times for PR, PGWP and study permits have improved significantly.

Thank you.
