Hi there,

I am a study permit holder and my wife is a SOWP holder (both will expire on 1 Aug). I will be graduated at end of April.
If I apply for PGWP after graduation, but not with the SOWP extension (since I have no NOC 0,A,B payslip yet).
Does the SOWP turns invalid and my wife need to stop working once I submit my PGWP application?

Hope someone can help me out with this. Thanks!

The SOWP remains valid until the expiration date. No, applying for your PGWP does not make the SOWP invalid.

I have another question, but idk if you can answer me or not.
If I apply for study permit extension for another school program, and then apply for pgwp for the graduated one, can I start working right away after the pgwp application? or I have to wait for the pgwp get approved to start working.

Thanks in advance!

You can start working if you have a valid study permit, have completed your degree when you submit when you submit your PGWP application, and you were eligible to work off-campus without a permit and you did not work off-campus for more than 20 hours a week during academic sessions. Just a reminder that you can apply for PGWP only once in life (unless there is some special public policy to be announced later.) If you continue your study in another program soon, probably save the opportunity for PGWP application after you finish your next program.

I don't understand what you are asking but this sounds like a really bad plan.

You should either be applying for the PGWP with the intention of working and not completing further studies. Or you should apply to extend your study permit if you want to take another program. Don't apply for both. All you'll probably end up doing is wasting your opportunity to get a PGWP. You can only be approved for a PGWP once.

Thank you for the reply! I am asking this because I am enrolled in a diploma program and I am also graduated from a certificate program. If I can get a job after my graduation, I might not need to study anymore and I will apply PGWP and go straight to work. Otherwise I will keep studying and get a longer PGWP.
However, I am not sure if this is work or not.

I would strongly recommend you complete 2 years of studies so that you qualify for a 3 year PGWP if your aim is to get PR.

It's really risky to go with a 1 year PGWP if your objective is PR. Lots of instances here where that hasn't worked out for people.
