SOWP Sep2019 Updates

I am in Canada with a one-year study permit for September session. My wife applied for Open Work Permit on 16 Sep 2019. We have linked the paper application online and it is stuck at "Background Check" and "Reviewing Eligibility". We haven't received a request for medical yet.

Has anyone gotten a response for Sep application?

It usually takes many months and SOWP is not guaranteed. It only says you can apply. The wording is a bit misleading.

Hi. I applied 6 Sept. My wife's medical is passed and is under "background checking in progress" waiting anxiously

Haven't received a request for medical yet. Did you wait for the request or did you do it upfront?

Was your application paper or online? Where did you apply from?

Application is online. I submitted upfront medical but that was processed on 13 sept. That's just the last update.. the background check is in process and I'm just waiting since 13 sept.

Yeap. I will. I think passing medical is a positive sign. After exhaustive searches on blogs.. I have seen minimal rejection s after passing medical.. but the think is it's been like a month since medical passed.. so having my fingers crossed and praying!
