Congrats. I have also applied for my file as outside canada because i am in my home country right now, Even though i have sowp till15th April i had to apply before the 21st Jan. My wife just got her completion letter few days back and she is doing TEER 4 job part time. Not sure what is going to happen. Hoping for the best.
SOWP Restoration + Work permit Extension

Hello everyone! I am in a very weird situation with my work permit restoration application. My SOWP was reduced in sept 2024 due to insufficient documents, I immediately applied for restoration the next day of refusal. I got correspondence letter on Jan 10th 2025 and multiple agents confirmed that my application was approved and they just have to print my approval document. Since then the agent has raised a request to the visa officer to review my case, my MP called multiple times and still no update. It’s getting very frustrating as I am struggling with a medical situation. I have raised a web form to inform IRCC of my medical situation, no update what so ever. If there’s anyone in the same boat or if you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate any help, Thank you!!
What is your question? You say application was approved and multiple agents confirmed it. When you log into your account what does it say?
It still says it’s in progress, which is strange, the agent confirmed that it was approved on 10th Jan but for some reason they dint communicate the decision to me yet, they told me that once they print my work permit, It should automatically change to approved online, but after that nothing changed, is it normal to approve the application and not communicate for two months and more?
So your consultant told you? Talk to your consultant again because if when you login it says in progress then not sure why consultant is telling you approved. Since you are paying a consultant then phone today.
Sorry my bad! By agent I mean IRCC agent not a consultant. The IRCC agent told me it’s approved at there end but for some reason the file is still open, the agent even raised a request to the Visa officer but still no response.
Agents are call centre employees so don’t always trust what they say. Raise a webform and ask for update. If when you login and says file in process then file is in process. What type of work permit? What is your current status in Canada?
I applied for SOWP and restoration, I am on implied status. I even applied for GCMS notes, even in that it says approved. Not sure what’s the reason for not communicating the decision to me. It’s very frustrating!!
Under assessment it says Eligibility: Passed, Criminality : Passed, Info Sharing : Complete, Final: Approved
Yeah that’s the only option, do you know how long do they normally take to respond to a webform??
