SOWP Refused-You have failed to disclose a previous CANADA refusal(s) on your application form, and answered "no" to the relevant statu

Hi All,

Please advise me,

I have applied to SOWP and unfortunately after submitting the application, after 7 days of submission, I realised that i have answered no to previous refusal. I immediately raised a web form and submitted an email to IRCC together with the corrected form declaring the past refusal. But despite that, I have received another refusal today based on that no i answered. Please advise me what i can do.

The refusal reads as follows :

Luckily you didn’t get a 5 year ban. Reapply and now you list ALL refusals. What is your spouse’s status and when does it expire?

Thanks for the advice. My spouse is on study permit, a full-time student at McGill University, with study permit expiring on 31st December this year. I would like to try again this time a visitor visa instead of SOWP what do you advise? What I want is just getting a visa which could allow me meet regularly my spouse until when we can both apply under express entry. I now have two SOWP refusals, the first one was due to insufficient funds as indicated in GCMS notes which I corrected in my second SOWP application but forgot to mention the first refusal which also caused my second application to be refused on the ground of failing to declare the first refusal on my second application.

A TRV makes no sense if you want to stay in Canada and work. If you have no plans to stay in Canada then try for a TRV. You need to address past reasons for refusal as well as show reason to return to home country (job letter with approved leave, business, properties etc.), travel history and funds.

Thanks once again for the advice. Anyway, should I decide to stay in Canada, wouldn't I be allowed to convert that TVR into SOWP while there? I also currently have a valid admission letter to University of Montreal for Fall intake but I have decided not to go for study permit rather go for SOWP as what i was looking for was to meet my spouse but after getting the two refusals, I am frustrated.

Where are you applying from? You cannot convert a permit. You still need to apply for a SOWP once in Canada.

Well noted. I am a Burundian, but our biometrics are taken from Rwanda, Kigali (applying from Rwanda) as we do not have a VSF office in Burundi. Both Burundian and Rwandan Visa Processing office is in Tanzania. At the moment, TVR processing from Rwanda/Burundi is 48 days. That's the reason even pushing me to go for TVR as it would be the quickest.

@Naturgrl I have decided to apply again for SOWP for consistency purposes, and to avoid seeming determined to come and stay in Canada.

Yes, he is in graduate program, a master's degree at McGill. I am submitting my application this coming saturday, any final advise for me while i finalise my application please !?
